Santuari iber i romà de la Malladeta. Part of the skyline from my mother's terrace in Villajoyosa and a magical walk from there in golden hour. The tower marks the site of an Iberian sanctuary dedicated to the Mother Goddess (the Tanit of Carthage) in 4th century BC. Long since erased and now occupied by the 19th-century tower built as a private study for psychiatrist and republican José María Esquerdo.
