Stop 2 - Segovia
Segovia is a beautiful historic city with medieval walls, Romanesque churches, a gothic cathedral and an ancient Roman aqueduct.
The Hotel was grand - Áurea Convento Capuchinos. Best sights were the Catedral de Segovia (aka Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption and of Saint Fructus) and the Alcázar of Segovia (medieval royal palace and castle dating back to the 12th century).
Best eats were at El Sitio tapas bar - lots of locals here, good food cooked to order for not much money. There are plenty good places for drinks off plaza mayor.
This was a quick overnight stop so not much to report except you really need a couple of days to do it justice.
Next stop Toledo.
250 miles from Bilbao. 6 hours riding with detours. 1 rookie error - riding on a *very* windswept mountaintop motorway. Stick to A and B roads.
