This is where I came here for a breather after years on the hamster wheel of London.
In photography terms it's another country. There are fewer people and they move more slowly, but there is sea and landscape and quirky spots like Deal, Margate, Folkestone and Whitstable that attract London exiles like flies to honey. France is so close you can see it.
I spent my first year here walking the beach at sunrise shooting boats, seagulls and beach huts. In my second year I picked up a cheap Honda Deauville to take a proper look and invade Northen France.
